EA predicts Sony will miss PS3 year-end shipment numbers
If you haven't managed to procure a solid pre-order yet from a credible retailer, you just might want to take a look at the "unboxing" pics recently releaased because it could very well be as close as you're getting to a PS3 in 2006.
Despite Sony's repeated reductions to the launch quantity predictions, EA thinks they're still "exaggerating"; EA forecasts that we might only end up with 500,000 to 800,000 units by year end in Canada & the U.S., as opposed to the 1.2 million currently being predicted by Sony.
This announcement comes after latest news that Japan's PS3 launch number have been ravaged by component shortages and manufacturing woes. There was some certainty, we thought, that there would be a paltry 100k units delivered, based on a promise by Sony last month, but it looks like they'll only get 80k of the elusive PS3s by the November 11th Japanese launch.
