Macrh 3, 2006 - Mum's The Word on PS3
The Destination PlayStation event in Miami is about to enter its third and final day and in spite of strict NDAs enforced upon attendees, news has leaked out that - there is no news - at least on the PlayStation 3. Many industry watchers had expected Sony to make a major announcement at Destination PlayStation and it looks like they will be severely disjointed. The fact that the PlayStation 3 simply cannot launch on target makes something of a mockery of SCE’s constant assertions that all is well, leaving many wondering why the electronics giant doesn’t simply set the record straight. If Sony believes that keeping consumers waiting will dent Xbox 360 sales, it’s dead wrong, with the only thing limiting the purchase of Microsoft’s new machine being how fast its production facilities can make them. It looks like we’ll know nothing until this May’s E3. And even then, debate will no doubt rage over where what is eventually shown was CG or not… Still - there’s always tomorrow.
